Panasonic’s 2014 TVs: Everything You Need To Know

DLNA is a networking standard used to stream content from one device to another on a home network. It only requires that all the devices be DLNA compatible. But that does help when a person owns only a single DLNA-enabled. Fortunately, Panasonic Viera televisions take further advantage of the built-in Wi-Fi. Just like any app store, such as Android’s and Apple’s, Viera connect hosts full screen games, social networking, video and music applications. Users can watch television and have Facebook or Twitter streaming live updates on the side of the screen. Without any added equipment, users can take advantage of all the popular streaming services such as Netflix, Amazon Instant Video, YouTube, Hulu and many others. An Internet connection and a Viera enabled television gives you unlimited access to the Viera Connect Market.

Panasonic > Panasonic VIERA ST50A 3D plasma TV; Panasonic VIERA ST50A 3D plasma TV This plasma TV looks great, and is excellent value for money. Plug one of these in, hook it up to your home network, and you’ve got almost all of the Smart features of a competing TV on your Panasonic .

The ST50A also has inputs for composite and component video, and has built-in Wi-Fi as well as a wired Ethernet network port. These connection options are standard for a TV of this size and price point, but the lack of a fourth HDMI may prove annoying. There’s also three USB 2. With any audio at all playing, any hint of a buzz was imperceptible.

While the VT-series Panasonics are priced squarely in enthusiast territory, the ST50A is much, much cheaper but retains most of the plasma picture quality nous that Panasonic is celebrated for. Despite these impediments, we think the Panasonic ST50A looks brilliant when it comes to displaying high-quality video sources. Standard mode is brighter but comes at the slight cost of minor shadow and highlight detail.

The first thing that you notice about the ST50A is how deep and dark and inky its black levels are:

The Panasonic Viera is a line of HDTVs with 12 to 18 connection ports, depending on the model, for hooking up other AV components. The Viera is equipped with the two most common video ports for connecting a PC or laptop with either a high definition media interface (HDMI) cable or a video graphics array (VGA) cable for connecting to the video port commonly found on older computers and laptops.

Average rating from 8 reviews: Our first smart tv at ultra 4k too but now faulty already. Screen goes black every few mintues Ok its your budget range tv but still a lot of money that has now been wasted. There weren’t many around, so I didn’t have much choice. Everything considered, I went for this slightly nervously, as some reviews were really slating it. I don’t know why, I’m well impressed.

I own two other flat screens, both LCD and both from Panasonic, 32″ and 42″. Set up is a breeze. The box is designed to be easily opened by releasing four plastic clips built onto the box. This allows the top most of the box to be lifted of the TV, while the TV remains secure and stationary in the lower part of the box. The included swivel stand comes in two pieces and is easily assembled with a few included screws.

Just bought a 50 panasonic viera, when we hook up ps3 on hdmi cable, we have sound but no picture. Plasma TV normally do not have the resolution required for PS3 unless the plasma TV is fullHD(xp) pixels.

Plasma TV is dead and buried sob , but the new and revitalised LED LCD TV lineup has a big focus on excellent picture quality — including deep black levels and plasma-esque contrast — and simple, elegant design. Most of the new TVs use Panasonic’s IPS panels, which promise wider viewing angles, and the design of Panasonic’s TVs is far, far improved from some of the outdated looks of years past. Super-thin bezels and clean, modern metallic or piano black finishes are all the rage this season.

Smart TV Panasonic has never been the number one go-to company if you want a Smart TV — its attitude is that, if you want fancy extras, you can get them from a media streamer or Blu-ray player that you connect over HDMI. Most of Panasonic’s TVs have some measure of Smart capability, though, but the implementation is less ostentatious and in-your-face than other big TV brands.

That’s a catch-all for its multi-screen home display interface, which can be set to any one of a number of templates and customised to show program guides, social media feeds, or with quick access to various catch-up and on-demand video streaming apps. Here’s a quick overview of the year’s VIERA TVs — how they differ from model to model, what you’ll get at any price point, and what is and isn’t worth spending your hard-earned dollars on.

Built-in Wi-Fi and Ethernet means you’re easily able to hook up the AX A and use its Smart features, and the larger screens have enough space for two 4-Watt speakers and Watt subwoofer on the TV’s rear. Later this year, from around September onwards, an AX will be introduced that looks even better. It’s entirely committed to getting the best possible picture quality on these screens, and while it doesn’t have the same 4K tie-in as Sony or the licensing budget of Samsung, it’s addressing the small things that are equally important; for example, an improvement on Ultra HD TVs and media players from last year is a simple streamlining of JPEG playback — images from USB or an external media device are displayed natively in 4K, where they were previously downscaled to p then interpolated.

The inch screen is the cheapest within Panasonic’s range to use an IPS panel, and although it’s not out right now it’ll be on store shelves before the start of August — the others are available now. Courtesy of a dual-core processor the AS A has a lot more Smart features than the rest of the Panasonic range; a built-in camera handles face recognition and automatic power-on when you sit down to watch TV, for example. Stay tuned and we’ll have a review of a few models in the near future.

Neither of these logos light up like they do on more expensive models from different brands. A nylon strap can also be attached to the TV and the stand for extra reassurance. The amount and range of connections on the rear and side of the Panasonic ET5A are standard for a television of its price and specification: The inclusion of four HDMI ports is good — better than the three of mid-range models from Samsung and LG — and adapters are included for analog composite and component inputs.

Panasonic also includes an SDXC card slot on all of its TVs — all the better for viewing photos off your Panasonic compact or mirrorless camera, although any JPG and other supported media files will work. We changed the TV to True Cinema for slightly more accurate rendition, although Cinema is also good despite its cooler white balance.

What’s on Panasonic Smart Viera?

Really good, as it turns out. Features This p flat panel is not 3D capable, but like most of Panasonic Viera plasmas, it does use fast-switching phosphors and Hz subfield drive for sharp motion detail. Don’t compare a plasma’s Hz subfield drive with an LCD’s or Hz refresh rate—these numbers describe two completely different things, so comparing them is meaningless.

If you have a wireless network, you can add an optional WiFi adaptor to the TV and eliminate the Ethernet cable, though I’ve generally found a wired connection to be more reliable.
